Residential Financing and Rebate Programs
Federal Investment Tax Credit (26%)
The Solar Investment Tax Credit is a federal income tax credit for residential and commercial solar energy systems in Minnesota and throughout the U.S. You essentially receive a 26% tax rebate on your taxes in the form of a check. If your solar array costs 200,000, you will receive a $52,000 tax credit. The credit will decrease in the coming years; now is the best time to get the highest rebate.

Lesser Known Grants

Financing Opportunities, Rebates, and Tax Advantages
“Even though without fail every client of ours tells us they are going solar because it’s the right thing to do, but without fail they still have to justify that decision economically. We make sure the solar payback and savings IS the right thing for them to do.” –Rob Appelhof, CEO and Founder
At Cedar Creek Energy, we are here to help you find the specific financial incentives associated with your home. Taking advantage of available tax credits, rebates, and depreciation plays a vital role in the return on your investment. We have trusted relationships with a wide range of sound lenders who specialize in green energy projects, giving you many financing options so you can choose the solution that best fits your budget.
Tax credits and incentives are another bright benefit of installing solar panels. The Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit is administered by the federal government which lets homeowners claim a credit of 26% on their federal income taxes. If you’re on the fence about making the switch to solar energy for your home, don’t forget to take into account tax credits which can dramatically reduce your overall out-of-pocket investment.
“At first, I thought the 26% Federal Tax Credit was more of a tax deduction; as in I could deduct it on my taxes. I was thrilled to realize that the 26% was literally a tax credit. So based on the investment we made into our solar array, I received a credit of $15,000. So if my overall tax liability was $30,000, minus the credit, I would only have to pay the IRS $15,000.” – Terrie Wheeler, Residential Solar Customer
