The greatest benefits to home owners in going solar is number one, you’re going to reduce your utility bill, you’re going to be able to hedge against rising prices. We know utility prices are not going down. There’s some really great incentives out there too. There’s a residential tax credit of 26%. You can use it all year one, or you can carry that forward if you can’t use it all in year one. It really helps you get your money back sooner. Also, several utility companies offer rebates and even production based incentives where if you create a kilowatt hour of power, the utility company is going to pay you a set rate for that. That really helps the payback of these systems. It’s also sending messages to your neighbors and your friends that you are environmentally conscious.
