Apprenticeship Program

Investing in Our Employees’ Future

Cedar Creek Energy’s Apprenticeship Program with the State of Minnesota offers a unique opportunity for Cedar Creek Energy employees to earn higher wages, expand their knowledge, and become nationally licensed journey worker electricians—all while gaining practical experience. Our commitment to excellence and innovation has driven us to continually improve our services and support our employees. We are excited to announce our partnership with the State of Minnesota’s Apprenticeship Program, designed to enhance the skills and earning potential of our workforce.

What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is an earn-as-you-learn workforce training model. You’ll receive both classroom instruction and on-the-job training to provide the industry-specific knowledge needed to perform highly skilled electrical work. Apprentices earn a salary as they train, and the process is structured to allow for a healthy work-life balance. At the end of the four-year apprenticeship program, you’ll have the skills and training needed to complete your journey worker’s test and become a licensed electrician

Benefits of Our Apprenticeship Program

      • Earn While You Learn: From the first day of your apprenticeship, you’ll start earning higher wages. As you progress through your coursework, your wages will increase incrementally, reflecting your growing skills and experience.

What does this mean for our customers?

Most solar companies don’t perform their own installations because training and retaining installation crews can be challenging. Our Apprenticeship Program formalizes our commitment to furthering the education of our employees and boosting their wages, because we know that a dedicated, well-trained team is key to delivering the safest, highest-quality solar installations.

Unlike other companies that outsource, we invest in retaining and developing our own skilled crews, ensuring your projects are handled by motivated professionals who take pride in their work. Our commitment to ongoing training, including annual safety updates, guarantees that every installation is performed with the utmost care. Plus, on larger projects exceeding 1 MW, you’ll enjoy additional tax advantages thanks to our registered apprentice workforce.
